Workplace learning is becoming increasingly more important during training of professionals. Reflection forms the basis for future behavior. The workplace is a hectic environment in which valuable learning moments are easily lost. To prevent losing these learning moments Maastricht University and project MMV of the KNMG developed the RAPP-it.
RAPP-it is a reflection app for iOS and Android. RAPP-it provides a quick and safe way to store learning moments as a text note, photo, audio or video. Learning moments are also sent to EPASS and can be used for reflection at a later, less hectic moment.
RAPP-it is available in the Apple app store and Google play store by searching for the term “RAPP-it”. RAPP-it is also available within the KNMG's MMV app.
EPASS can be used by several health care professionals, including students (veterinary) medicine, students Clinical Technology, residents of about 17 specialties, medical specialists, Intensive Care nurses and nurse practitioners. EPASS can be used by and for students ‘dedicated schakeljaar’ too. If these students have completed their undergraduate training and start with their postgraduate training, they can continue their portfolio.
EPASS is currently being used by students ‘dedicated schakeljaar’ for the specialties paediatrics, gynaecology and anaesthesiology.
The narrative feedback module is made available for all residents (not) in their postgraduate training. In the portfolio of the resident, an overview of all given narrative feedback of assessors is displayed. The feedback can be filtered on strengths, areas for improvement, remarks and agreements. An example of this overview is pictured below.
At November 6 and 7 2014, the annual NVMO congress will take place in Egmond aan Zee. EPASS will be present with a stand. Everyone is very welcome to visit us!
The national association for Clinical Genetic Laboratory specialists (VKGL) has chosen EPASS as a system to support their education. Currently, the portfolio is being developed and will be available in the autumn of 2014.
